Inwood, Tenth Avenue at 215th Street

This was last Tuesday, coming home about 7:30. This looks like such a lively place, I'm thinking of shooting this spot every time I come home with a camera. Of course as it gets colder, there'll be less sidewalk action. Now I can't wait until next summer.

I like the way the light works. The feel you get for the scene, with the people just hanging out, is somehow endearing. But what really strikes me is $8.99 for a haircut - what a deal. I thought it was expensive to live in NY.

Nighthawks at the barber shop.

Wonderful gleaming! Looks like the shop is about to take off to parts - pun intended - unknown. Very unreal.
