East Village, 13th Street Between Broadway and Fourth Avenue

Mary Sargent © 2006

Off work today (every other Wednesday, thank the lord). So downtown to the physiatrist on 12th Street. I arrived early, so veered off onto 13th Street and got this shot. This is just east of Broadway. I had another shot of this with the front of a green truck in it, which you would think would just set it off splendidly, and it pretty much did, but somehow, I came back to this one. This is MUCH improved enlarged.

Echoing both Caribou and, of course, old Flying Lady (I esp. like her comments--and of course she's not old). I love this one, too. Good thing about your project (I know you know this): You'll never, ever run out of new streets to photo, or old new streets, etc. New York is just one huge collection of streets. And this photo is a top one! Say hello to Caribou.

I love the contrast of this picture. (I was cracking up on the flyinglady's comment about the hydrant being a little alien).

I love this one too. It's so jazzy - the pattern of lights take my eye all around.
